Manual instruments
TQM Itaca Technology also produces manual sonic control tools.
These tools are used for two types of control:
Defects detection:
- Nodularity (presence of lamellar graphite)
- Carbides (cementite)
- Cracks
- Blowholes and cavities
- Cold shuts
- Interrupted pours
- Pour shorts
Control of the Eigen frequencies.
The main difference compared to the automatic version is that the hammer is manually operated. The technical features remain unchanged:
Input module with 24-bit resolution and sample rate 100 KHz.
Scan range: from 1 Hz to 50.000 Hz
Resolution and control time, on the entire scan range:
- - resolution 2 Hz - control time 0,5 seconds
- - resolution 1 Hz - control time 1 second
- - resolution 0,5 Hz - control time 2 seconds
- - resolution 0,25 Hz - control time 4 seconds
Microphone sensitivity:
- Standard: 20 Hz. - 20.000 Hz.
- Special: 4 Hz. - 80.000 Hz.
Minimum distance between two adjacent frequencies 2 Hz.
Proper handling of overlapping tolerances.
The instrument is completely managed by Itasonic software. It simplifies the creation of the control plan for Eigen and the research ot the frequencies that best identify the defects.
There are two options:
- Statistical analysis module
- Automatic search module for frequencies identifying defects.
