ITADISK is the system for the acquisition, storing and analysis of the profile of a BRAKE DISC, with the same principles of a laboratory roundness measurement machine. The measurement cycle is automatic and the system is easy to integrate within automated lines.

The software is already set up to incorporate automatic loading/unloading, marking machines and lathe corrections. The mechanical fixture consists in a high precision rotation system, a mandrel with a probe used to compensate any rotation error. There is an elastic clamp (worldwide patented) to lock the disc in place and to measure the bore diameter. In this way we measure the minimum value, exactly what is needed.

The measurement is carried out by electronic contact probes and an encoder. The system stores about 3.000 values for each probe, and it analyses the values in the same way as a roundness instrument does. The results are numerical values and the real profiles (polar and linear) of all the sections measured.

The individual graphic representations of each measurement can be saved. All the measurements are stored in an Itastat 6 database, available for statistical analysis. In the standard version the simultaneous checking of up to 16 sections is possible.

The verified geometric characteristics can be relative to a single section or derived from the comparison between various sections. Itadisk workstations can check Full Brake Discs, Ventilated Brake Discs, Automobile and Industrial brake discs. They can be dedicated for one single type of disc or factory-prepared for retooling.
