TQM Itaca has developed a very powerful measurement system dedicated to the geometric and dimensional inspection of brake discs. Called ITADISK, this system, consisting of mechanical and electronic components and dedicated software, enables all the following characteristics to be 100% ckecked in accordance with the main automotive producer guidelines. Itadisk is accredited by Toyota Motors and Bosch Chassis System.
All the most important brake disc producers use our measurement system, for statistical or 100% control, often directly interfaced with the load/unload system, the turning machine to manage tool correction and the marking system to enable allowing full traceability. |

This solution is studied for the integration in a production line fed by conveyor. All the single component dimensions and locations are definable in according with the customer.
It is an extremely flexible modular solution. Thanks to this structuring, it is possible to add various stations, as the marking, the roughness control, the cleaning station at the entry, the True position control of the holes though a telecamera.
The addition of the supplemental modules does not affect the cycle time, as the control times are aligned for all the modules. |

Where a robot arm is available to load / upload the part from the turning machine, the integration of the workstation in the working area is very simple.
The brake disc control system consists of an automatic measuring station, an eventual marking machine and an electrical cabinet that contains the PC, the PLC and all the other electronic components.
The measuring station lay-out is defined according to the space available in the production line. Normally the fixture is mounted on a special carriage equipped with wheels and a specific locking device. The electrical cabinet is often outside the working area.
The use of an articulated robot allows the enslavement of 2 adjoining working lines. |
